One month after police obtained a warrant for a Deposit man's arrest after an alleged domestic dispute, Broome County Sheriff's deputies took him into custody Monday when he met with his probation officer.
Robert J. Kinzer, 31, had been sought since the Jan. 1 domestic dispute, sheriff's deputies said, because he fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. A week later, he was approached by police in Deposit, but ran away on foot and again evaded capture.
The tip leading to Kinzer's arrest came Monday afternoon, sheriff's deputies said.
Kinzer was taken into custody and to face nearly a dozen charges: felony counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated family offense and fourth-degree grand larceny. He also was charged with misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
Kinzer was arraigned in the Broome County Sheriff's Office and released on his own recognizance.
