LIMA — The manager of a Lima fast-food restaurant was robbed at gunpoint early Monday as she attempted to make a deposit at a downtown Lima bank.

According to a report from the Lima Police Department, the manager of Burger King restaurant, who was not named, was attempting to drop off a deposit at the Chase Bank at 121 W. High St. at approximately 4:30 a.m. Monday when she was approached by a black male.

The subject, who was described as approximately 5-foot-10 with a medium build and a deep voice, reportedly brandished an all-black firearm which was pointed toward the ground. When he demanded the manager to give him the money, she hesitated and turned away from him. The assailant then took hold of her right arm and took the deposit envelope from her, police said, before running southeast from the business.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Matt Woodworth at 419-221-5293 or CrimeStoppers at 419-229-STOP (7867).
