DEPOSIT - Two village of Deposit residents were arrested April 19 on felony drug possession charges following the execution of a search warrant at their Marvin Street apartment.
A search of the apartment by Sheriff's deputies, investigators and K-9 “Ozzie” on led to the seizure of 205 bags of heroin, a number of Alprazolam (Xanax) tablets and $200 U. S. Currency.
John J. Coe,45, of Deposit and Debbie L. Moore, 44formerly of New Port Richey, Fl., were charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (heroin - possession with intent to sell), a class B felony and fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance(Alprazolam - possession with intent to sell) a class D felony.
John J. Coe is expected to face additional felony charges at a later time relating to the sale of heroin on previous occasions.
In addition to the seized narcotics and currency, Coe was found to be in possession of a New York State Public Assistance Benefit Card.
Coe and Moore were arraigned in Colchester Town Court where they were remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail pending further court action.
Sheriff's Deputies and Investigators were assisted at the apartment Tuesday morning by the village of Deposit Police Department.
Undersheriff Craig DuMond stated, “The Delaware County Sheriff's Office is steadfast in our determination to eliminate these dealers from our communities. We continue to encourage the public to utilize our anonymous TIP line (1-888-914-9111) to report criminal activity. Citizens serve as our partners in making our communities a better place for all who live, work, or visit Delaware County”.
