A quick moving storm system will make the northern half of Lower Michigan more white over the next few days.
Here’s the radar forecast, showing the quick moving storm system moving across the northern half of Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
Draw a line from Muskegon to Bay City. North of that line, snow will develop Thursday morning and continue into Thursday evening. The southern half of Lower Michigan won’t have much snowfall with this storm because of the more northerly track of the storm center. The southern half of Lower Could have some spurts of snow combined with some spurts of rain.
The real accumulating snow will fall from Traverse City to Oscoda and northward into the Upper Peninsula.
Snow will start Thursday morning and continue into early Friday morning. In northern Lower Michigan, the heaviest snow will total up around the Mackinac Bridge area and southward into the Petoskey and Charlevoix areas.
Across the Upper Peninsula expect three to five inches of new snow just about everywhere.
By Friday morning, the snow will be over. It will be cold, so any snow on the roads won’t go away instantly on Friday.
Southern Lower will have an inch or less of total snow Thursday night and early Friday morning.
